Shaykh  Nour Mohamad Kabbani

Shaykh Nour with his father Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani.

Dr. Nour Mohammad Kabbani is authorized to impart centuries-old teachings of grandmasters of the illustrious Naqshbandi Golden Chain that encourage all humanity to share love, tolerance, peace, unity, and compassion.

He was born in Beirut in 1971, where he was raised by his parents, As-Sayyid Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani and Hajjah Naziha Adil Kabbani, respective deputy and eldest child of As-Sayyid Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Adil al-Haqqani (d. 2014), who was Chief Scholar of Hanafi Fiqh in Turkey and founder of the Naqshbandi-Haqqani Sufi Order.

At age seven, he began attending his grandfather’s lectures on the Islamic Sciences Fiqh (Jurisprudence), `Aqida (Doctrine), and Akhlaq (Islamic Ethics). He also studied under his father, a renowned scholar of Shafi`i Fiqh and Asha`ri `Aqidah. In adulthood, Dr. Nour became proficient in Tafsir al-Qur`an and Tafsir al-Hadith, specifically the doctrine of Ahl as-Sunnah wa ‘l-Jama`ah. He is fluent in Arabic, Turkish and English.

He then acquired his M.D. in Internal Medicine at the University of Marmara in Istanbul, Turkey. Dr. Nour moved to New York City, became an American citizen, and completed his residency at Columbia University, St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital.

While living in America, Dr. Nour continued his Islamic education two-to-three months each year in Cyprus, where he studied deeper aspects of Islamic Sciences under his noble grandfather, who authorized him to give khutbahs, lectures, and lead dhikr (meditation). His talks reflect the nurturing wisdom of his illustrious teachers who have brought Islam to hundreds of thousands of converts, and revitalized the faith of millions of Muslims around the world.

Due to his unique life experience and noble lineage, Western audiences in particular resonate with Shaykh Nour’s spiritually uplifting advice. In the US, he has addressed groups in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, Dallas, Denver, Chicago, Michigan, New York, New Jersey, and Metro Washington DC. In Canada, he has toured Montreal, Ottawa and Ontario. His tours often include outreach with other faith communities to expand goodwill.

From 2015 to 2020, Dr. Nour’s three annual UK tours attracted a strong youth following, much like when his beloved grandfather first toured England in the mid-1970s. In 2018, he established relationships with prominent UK leaders with a goal to better serve disenfranchised Muslims of various ethnicities. In 2019, in addition to Metro London, his highly successful tours included the north and midlands.

In 2017, Dr Nour toured Holland, Belgium, Norway, and in The Netherlands, where he addressed a conference at The Haque University. His initial visit was so successful, a twice-annual Holland/Belgium retreat and tour of Norway were added to his itinerary.

In 2018, Dr. Nour toured Australia, and headed a spiritual retreat in Germany. In January 2019, his ten-day visit to Mauritius was also highly successful, including a meeting with President Barlen Vyapoory. He has visited and maintains strong relationships with followers in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore.

In early 2020, with the rapid spread of COVID19 and subsequent global lockdowns, Dr. Nour observed the mandated protocols, and when restrictions were lifted, in summer 2021 he resumed travel to advise and meet followers in various US cities.

Before Dr. Nour was born, Grandshaykh AbdAllah al-Fa’iz ad-Daghestani prophesied he will become a leader and spread Naqshbandi teachings. In 2018, upon determining his preparedness, Shaykh Hisham Kabbani gave Dr. Nour “Ijazat” (official authorization that meets centuries-old hierarchal protocols of the Sufi Order) to teach the Naqshbandi Sufi Way, specifically from Mawlana Shaykh Nazim’s personal notes that include priceless knowledge and Awliya (saints) secrets.
