Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani with Dr. Nour Kabbani

Dr. Nour Kabbani is a descendant of the great Mawlānā Jalāl ad-Dīn Rūmī and Sayyidunā Shaykh ʿAbd al-Qādir al-Jīlānī through his mother’s lineage, and of Imām Zayn al-ʿĀbidīn and Imām al-Ḥusayn ibn ʿAlī through his father’s lineage.

He is a dedicated advocate of classical Islamic learning, committed to preserving and promoting the rich heritage of the Islamic sciences and traditional methods of teaching for communities around the world. Dr. Nour studied under his father, the renowned spiritual guide Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani, at the Institute for Spirituality and Cultural Advancement in Burton, Michigan. Under his father’s guidance, he received ijāza (authorization) to lead gatherings of spiritual counsel, dhikr (remembrance of Allah), and the practice of the noble Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

Alongside his religious education, Dr. Nour pursued a distinguished career in medicine. He earned his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from the University of Marmara in Istanbul, Türkiye, completed a three-year residency in Internal Medicine at Columbia University in New York City, and practiced medicine in the Chicago area for more than two decades. Throughout his medical career, he remained actively engaged in serving the spiritual and educational needs of the community.

Today, Dr. Nour has devoted himself full-time to spiritual guidance, leading gatherings of dhikr, reflection, and meditation. Through his teaching and mentorship, he accompanies spiritual seekers from around the world in their journey toward the highest purpose of human creation: attaining the pleasure and nearness of the Divine.
