|
After an announcement was sent out regarding Tuesday’s meeting in Fenton, MI, mureeds flew in from around the US, firstly in order to the commemorate the Night Journey and Ascension of the Prophet (s) (Laylat al-Isra wal-Me`raj) which coincided with Monday night and second to attend a meeting with the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to North and South America, His Excellency Sodyq Safaev.
| The mureeds began arriving
Monday morning, and continued streaming into Shaykh Hisham’s Michigan
farm on into Monday night and Tuesday morning. On Monday night, Shaykh
Hisham Kabbani led the gathering in commemoration of the Night Journey and
Ascension of the Prophet, by praying salat al-Tasbih and salat ash-Shukr,
reciting Mawlid, and giving a sohbat on that most auspicious event,
relating from the various commentaries on Quran by traditional scholars of
Ahl as-Sunna wal-Jama`at.
The commemorations continued to enliven the night with salawat, recalling the details of that blessed night in detail, analyzing and discussing what various scholars said about that event. Emphasis was placed on Imam Nawawi’s observations regarding that blessed Night, particularly his famous statement, “The Prophet (s) saw His Lord with the eys of his head.” (ra’ rabbahu bi `ayni raasihi). After salat al-tahajjud and Salat al-Fajr, followed by another sohbat by Shaykh Hisham, everyone partook of a hearty breakfast prepared by the sisters. |

The ambassador said that President Karimov realized that all he had planned to do in his dreams suddenly became easier and all of his dreams for Uzbekistan were now in the process of being realized. He felt unexpectedly special luck in his speech before the UN. Moreover in a meeting with President of Turkey Cesar, President Karimov conveyed his feelings about his meeting with the two shaykhs, particularly with Shaykh Nazim, and how Shaykh Nazim had made his dreams to be realized and the tremendous spiritual energy he received from the Shaykh. Then Ambassador Safayev read a letter, written in both Uzbek and Arabic, by President Karimov, which he then presented to Shaykh Hisham. We will be posting its translation later as well as the audio of His Excellency’s address later today, when the information has been encoded. Please continue to check the Naqshbandi website for this multimedia coverage.

The ambassador stated that President Karimov is extendng an official invitation to Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Adil al-Haqqani with any and all his mureeds to Uzbekistan for a very special event, and tour of the nation and its religious sites. The government appreciates all that the Islamic Supreme Council is doing to educate Muslims around the world on mainstream traditional Islam - the faith that spreads peace, love and moderation, and builds bridges between the different Abrahamic faiths to bring unity and peace to this world. Moreover he said that the Islamic Supreme Council is considered a leading authority in Islamic knowledge, something of which Muslims are in great need of around the world, particularly in the US and North America. He stated that ISCA is shedding light on issues that need great clarification, particularly in the West, as these issues are better understood by Muslims themselves, not as understood by researchers looking from the outside trying to understand them. He salutes the council for taking a consistently firm stand against violence, extremism, militancy and terrorism, and he applauded the council’s support of peace and moderation. He confirmed that the people of his nation are Muslims and Naqshbandis and that they will reject all new ideologies that seek to remove that belief from their hearts. They reject all intruders who are attempting to radicalize Islam by introducing a foreign ideology. As Uzbekistan has always been a great nation for the traditional understanding of Islam, as transmitted by its great scholars, such as Imam al-Bukhari, Imam Tirmidhi and others, it will continue be a haven for this understanding and its implementation. His Excellency Sodyq Safayev then made a presentation to Shaykh Hisham al-Kabbani of two gifts, one for Shaykh Nazim and one for Shaykh Hisham, betokening the high esteem of President Islam Karimov and his friendship and his love for the shaykhs.
