An Evening of Da`wa at Detroit's Islam Jame Masjid
| Shaykh Nazim was the invited guest speaker at Islam Jame Masjid in Detroit that evening. | ||
There Shaykh Nazim was greeted and addressed a large crowd of primarily Bengali origin, all of whom adhere to the teachings of Ahl as-Sunna wal-Jama`at. |
| The Shaykh gave a lengthy talk on the importance of keeping the faraid of Islam, and made a strong suggestion to the attendees, that unless occupied with da`wah, they would be better off in their home country, before their youth are lost to the massive current of secular and worldly pressures found in the West. |
The final sunnah's of Salat al-'Isha were followed by an excellent dinner served by the mosque to all attendees. |
| After dinner, many individuals came to meet the Shaykh personally and to seek his du`a, baya` or his blessing. |
| The next morning, September 10th, two convert families were joined by the betrothal of their children in the familiar engagement ceremony, performed by Shaykh Nazim. The engagement, expected to last some time, until the pair get to know each other, will be followed by a formal marriage, insha-Allah. |
| Exchanging vows, the couple shared pieces of the engagement cake. | ||
