Shaykh Nazim Adil al-Haqqani al-Muhammadi al-Naqshbandi visited one of the largest mosques in Astoria, Queens, where he addressed an audience of over 700 Muslim men, women and children. The mosque hosted the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia along with Shaykh Nazim Adil, Shaykh Hisham Kabbani, His Royal Highness Raja Ashman Shah, son of the Sultan of Perak, Malaysia and his entourage, all invited guests at the 1st Millenium Peace Summit for Religious and Spiritual Leaders, to be held at the UN the following week. |

| The mosque was founded by the local Indonesian community. Also among the attendees, were Mr. Firdaus Wadji and his wife Mrs. Suhartini Firdaus, delegates from Indonesia, also visiting the US to attend the Summit. |

| At the event, in which Shaykh Nazim spoke about the certainty of death and the coming of the afterlife, and the importance of turning in repentance to Allah before each person reaches his final destination. | |
| After salaat al-'Isha, Shaykh Nazim gave shahada to seven individuals who had come to the mosque in order to meet the Shaykh, having heard of him through word-of-mouth, the Internet and through his books. | |
