Maharishi Vedic University HQ, Vlodrop, Holland

At the special request of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Shaykh Hisham Kabbani flew to Maharishi Vedic University in Vlodrop, Netherlands, where he gave intensive discourses and explanations of Islam, Sufism (tasawwuf) and Sufic Healing (Tibb an-Nabawi) - the all-natural methods of healing described first by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) 1400 years ago.

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, renowned former "guru" of the Beatles; the person responsible for introducing the concept of meditation to the Western world, "father" of transcendental meditation (TM) and other methods for relieving stress and reducing suffering, requested the shaykh to come to his world headquarters and illuminate his followers on the Sufic methods of "miraculous" healing, methods originating in the Natural Path taught by Prophet Muhammad, known as Tibb an-Nabawi.

Shaykh Kabbani with private secretary Mateen Siddiqui,
and assistant Nojan Mir were whisked to the Maharshi
Vedic University in Vlodrop by helicopter, after arriving
at Schipol Airport in Amsterdam. Here Dr. Tony Nader,
president of the Maharishi Mahesh University system is

The shaykh, accompanied by his private secretary and an assistant, spent nearly four days with the famous Indian yogi and his closest aides. Dr. Tony Nader, president of Maharishi Ayur-Veda University system, whose worldwide locations total over 70, Dr. Bevan Morris, Dr. Walid Bechara, Dr. Lokanath Misra (former governor of India's Assam Province) and other professors and researchers, spent time in extensive sessions learning about Islamic spirituality, known as Sufism (tasawwuf) from the shaykh and delved into the connections between faith, spiritual healing "technology" and the current problems, social, medical and personal, which effect today's modern society. Seeking a means to relieve humanity's suffering, the sessions went long into the night.

The meetings resulted in an agreement for further study and work together, as the Maharishi expressed great enthusiasm for the Islamic Sufi methods of healing and their use on a broad basis. Referring to many years of research conducted by his university's research staff, showing the effectiveness of TM and other methods on reducing stress, improving human efficiency and improving general social conditions, the yogi hopes to show scientific, objective tests which prove with factual evidence that Islamic spiritual healing is effective, as the anecdotal and experiential evidence so strongly suggest.
