O
Muslims! Islam had been hijacked! But now it is coming back by
means of your hard work. Muslims around the world are doing that
hard work of showing Islam in its true image.
I was
going to open the subject of this important Day. This is the day
of the Victory of the Prophet against those who had fought him and
tortured his people. And it was a victory achieved not through
fighting and bloodshed, but through peaceful
means.
When he entered Makkah the Prophet,
upon whom be God's peace and blessings, ordered his followers
saying that he didn’t want to see the killing of any person, not a
child, not a woman, not even the cutting of a tree; a day in which
there is to be no bloodshed and a day in which all vendettas of
vengeance are to end.
Reciting takbirat al-`Eid and Salawat
(praise of the Prophet, upon whom be peace).
That
is our Eid today, this is a message to all of you today and to
take back to your homes and to say that we cannot accept violence.
If ten people, in every mosque in the US will say, "We cannot
stand what is going on," and if everyone one will tell ten other
people we will reach three or four thousand people every week. You
will be diplomats for Islam and its message of love and peace. Go
to your friends in synagogues and churches. Give that message to
all you meet.
